Serendipity Sundays - Thanksgiving Cactus

It's Thanksgiving Time

If you look around in Clarksville you will see signs of fall a precursor to winter. Just in the last week, the weather has changed and it feels like winter is on the way.

Thanksgiving Cactus

My Thanksgiving cactus knows that we are having an early Thanksgiving. The blooms are opening and it should be in full bloom by Thanksgiving Day. I don't know how it knows it is that time of year but it does.

My cactus has spiky leaves and the blooms resemble orchid blooms. This plant is not to be confused with a Christmas cactus which has larger blooms and smooth leaves.

This cactus sits in my bathroom window where it gets diffused sunlight. I welcome the blooms whenever they come and they welcome me each morning through their blooming season.

For now, I will enjoy my Cactus blooms and consider it another gift of the season. I am Thankful.
