Playing It Safe, Staying with the Herd

Playing It Safe, Staying with the Herd

There are many fields I see in my day to day real estate travels around Clarksville TN. When I saw this pasture and this herd of cows it made me think about patterns and tendencies people have. Cows usually stick together in a herd and only occasionally do you see one that has a little spunk and ventures out on her own. Aren't real estate agent much the same way?

Staying with the herd

The majority play it safe and stay with the herd. They do what they see other agents do and are afraid to step out and try something new. So the result is they have their heads down and are not attuned to what opportunities may be around them and they pass them by. They remain mediocre and just part of the herd. Could this be why 80% of new licensees do not renew their licenses when renewal time comes along?

When you are afraid or unwilling to take chances then you will get the same results as the masses. The fields where you are grazing may have tough old grass when the grass may be more plentiful, tender and juicy in the field on the other side of the hill. Staying where you are you will never know.

Are you playing it safe, staying with the herd? Or do you have spunk, checking out what else is out there, willing to try new ideas and to be different and stand out and get noticed?
