Riverfest 2015 in Clarksville TN, September 10-12

Riverfest 2015 in Clarksville TN, September 10-12

Riverfest in ClarksvilleClarksville's Fall Music Festival is right around the corner. It's a favorite amongst concert and festival goers and this year's Riverfest 2015 is expected to be one of the best. For many years the City of Clarksville has organized this big event and Riverfest 2015 is offering some new and exciting events.

It takes place on the banks of the Cumberland River near Downtown Clarksville for a grand time of celebrating, eating, visiting and seeing some great artists perform. As always there will be many vendors and artists showcasing and selling their foods and crafts. Food and drink vendors will have wide varieties of good foods to eat so bring plenty of money and plan to eat lunch or dinner at Riverfest 2015.

When: Thursday Sept. 10, Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12
Hours: Thurs. Art Show only, Fri. 5pm-11pm, Sat. 10am-11pm
Where: McGregor Park
Who: Everyone and Anyone in the area
Tickets: Free Admission
Who to Contact: Clarksville Parks and Recreation (931) 645-7476
Email: parksrec@cityofclarksville.com

Thursday's event is for the Art Show and Film Festival only. It is free to attend this part too. I've attended Riverfest many years and enjoyed it thoroughly. Hopes are high for good weather with a hint of fall in the air. Generally this time of year the temperatures are moderate and the humidity levels are low.

New this year is the Human Foosball Game. This is a team sport and teams pay an entry fee.

It's Not Just Food

There is also a ton of entertainment being offered on the 3 stages. Thursday Evening's entertainment is a ticketed event with drinks and food featuring Serieux: A Temptations Revue.. Tickets for this event can be bought online for the Thursday evening 7pm show. Friday evening they will play again at 9pm (free) and Saturday is Charles Esten. During the day, many local bands, dance teams and other entertainers will perform showing a variety of talented people.

The KidsArea is just for kids and you can purchase an armband for the children to play and romp and and have a really big time. You can order these online too. The cost to enter the Zone is $10.

Riverfest MusicInsider Tips:

No outside food or drink: Don't bring anything from home so come prepared to buy food and beverages from the large selection of vendors.

Bring a blanket or a chair: There are a lot of people and you will just want to sit and relax after awhile.

Parking is limited: Your best shot at finding a spot would be to get there early and park towards Downtown and be prepared to walk several blocks. Be sure to not block anybody's driveway as this could cause your vehicle to get towed. Expect congestion.

Free parking and a shuttle service is available at Austin Peay State University's Dunn Center parking lot. The shuttle will run every 30-45 minutes to McGregor Park on Saturday ONLY. It begins at 9:30am with last pick-up from the Festival at 11:15pm. Stops are at APSU on Marion Street between the Dunn Center & football stadium and they stop at the main entrance McGregor Park near the boat ramp/College Street & Riverside Drive. Do not park at Two Rivers Shopping Center or any other Riverside Drive businesses during their business hours.

Bring Cash: Many of the vendors take credit cards but cash also works. As in events past you will buy food and drink tickets. You don't want to get bogged down in long lines so allow extra time for this step.

Leave pets and weapons at home: No pets are permitted so please don't bring them. Firearms and knives are not allowed.
