Sayings You Hear in Real Estate That Are True
It has been a long time since I got into the real estate business. Early on experienced agents shared sage advice they knew and these statements still hold true. I have used them many times and others sayings have been added to my list along the way. Have you heard any of these during your tenure in the business?
You have to list to last.
Realtors don't retire they just get listless.
If you don't ask you are likely to never know the answer.
Don't count your commissions before you have earned them and they aren't earned until after closing.
The first offer is generally the best offer.
Location, location, location.
You can't get the business if the prospect can't find you.
Never say never because you may change your mind.
If something didn't work in the past it may in the future.
It may take five or six no's to get a yes.
If you can't get the buyer to make an offer it might not be the right property.
Buyers and sellers don't have to like you to do business with you.
Buyers and sellers can see through a fake smile.
If it sounds to good to be true it usually is.
Buyers are liars and so are sellers.
Friends and family will disappoint you and use other agents.
Your motivation comes from within you. Others cannot give it too you.
Though you may love what you do, you do it for the income and the personal satisfaction.
Clients will say and do things that will hurt your feelings. Shake it off, it is business.
You don't have to take abuse and you can walk away or fire a client.
There is a buyer for every house.
Every house will sell eventually at some price.
