Household Hazardous Waste Spring 2016 Collection Event Clarksville, TN

Where to get rid of hazardous household waste in Clarksville
Just in time for spring the Clarksville/Montgomery County will be holding their semi-annual collection of household hazardous wastes. The date is March 19 from 8am to 1pm at the Transfer Station Convenience Center at 1230 Highway Dr. in Clarksville.

Do not throw away your household hazardous wastes though ordinary trash disposal. Do not pour harmful chemicals onto the ground or down the drain into sewer lines. These can contaminate the soil and leach into our water supplies.

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation is providing this mobile collection opportunity in March. Check out details for the spring collection at the HHW website.

Date: Saturday, March 19

Time: 8am to 1pm

Where: Transfer Station Convenience Center, 1230 Highway Drive

Contact Person: Pete Reed, 931-648-5751

 ;

These household hazardous wastes will be accepted:

  • Yard chemicals and fertilizers, pesticides
  • Cleaning fluids and products
  • Lithium and button batteries
  • Brake fluid, Aerosols, Adhesives
  • Fluorescent bulbs, Mercury thermometers and thermostats
  • Medications
  • Swimming pool chemicals
  • Paint thinner

These will not be accepted:

  • Paint
  • Ammunition
  • Explosives
  • Medical Waste
  • Electronics
  • Alkaline batteries

This is where you can get rid of your household hazardous waste in Clarksville TN this spring. There will likely be another event later this year if you miss this one. Clearing these items out before spring is the best time to get a jump on your spring cleaning.

For more information about this event contact Pete Reed at 931-648-5751.

Hi Debbie Reynolds - I am not sure if people realize how expensive it is to dispose of Hazardous Waste! Back in the 1990's it cost over $500 a barrel to be dsposed properly.  Only a class 1 disposal site can take it.  This is a real benefit and people should take advantage of the opportunity!

Great idea to help people dispose of items that can't be tossed into the garbage Debbie.

It is only open half a day so it will be crowded and there may be lines Conrad Allen.

Isn't it great that many communities are having these collection days, George Souto?

That is where they would go if the authorities don't make it easy to turn them in Noah Seidenberg.
