Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: Free Admission Saturday at Custom House Museum, Clarksville TN

Free Admission Saturday at Custom House Museum, Clarksville TN

Free Admission Saturday at Custom House Museum, Clarksville TN

This is the Saturday of the month that admission is free at the Custom House Museum in Clarksville TN. It's the perfect time to take the whole family and explore the history behind Clarksville. There is a special area just for kids (adults will love it too) and I promise you will learn something you didn't know. There are the trains and the Bubble Cave and of course the special exhibits from talented artists.

Customs House Museum

There are special hands on learning experiences for children. I particularly like the gift shop and the handmade items worthy of any collector's personal collection.

The building itself is an experience with it starting out as a local post office. It is located on the corner of Commerce and N. Second Streets and is on the National Historic Registry. It was built in 1898 across the street from one of the prettiest Courthouses in the South. The Custom House Museum is the second largest general museum in Tennessee.

Check out the Temporary Exhibits that tend to feature local artists and the permanent displays  that are top notch and educational. The admission schedule will give you the times and days of the week the museum is open.

Debbie, saw the title and had to re-visit as that is such an incredibly beautiful building!  How great that Clarksville has done such a good job preserving this treasure and that the Customs House Museum has such great programs for children!

Debbie, this architecture is stunning. At first glance one might think gaudy .but it's .loaded with character too. It would take me a few hours exploring the outside before finding the treasures being displayed on the inside.

I'd love to take this event in Debbie Reynolds if not just to see that building. It looks fascinating!

It is interesting that the Customs House Museum started out as a post office. The architecture is incredible and it sounds like the museum is definitely worth a visit. Nice post
