Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: Benefits of Attending a State Convention

Benefits of Attending a State Convention

Charleston Harbor

The Tennessee Association of REALTORS® had their state convention last of week in Charleston, SC.  It was a beautiful venue and because it was out of state at a historic place with a beach, the attendance was the best it has been in several years. One of our events was at the Aquarium and the CRS Event was a harbor cruise which was free to CRS members.

Some people asked why would we choose to leave the state for our convention. The answer is Tennessee agents like to shake it up a bit and since have two conventions in a row within the state, we change it up and go out of state for the next one. Next year's convention is at the Peabody in Memphis.

The bottom line is REALTORS® like to travel especially when it is deductible.

Good morning Debbie. I think this is neat and the photo is terrific. I have never heard of this sort of another state for a state convention, but I'll bet attendance was up.

I have never heard of a real estate convention leaving the state - How did the local businesses feel about it? Ours in MD is always in the early fall at the beach.

Our state convention was this past week and they had great speakers and classes.  Everyone should attend.

Debbie Reynolds - Sometimes it helps to get out of what you are most familiar with, and get a fresh perspective, and that means heading out-of-state every once in a while!

Having just returned from my state convention, I can say they are very rewarding and there are plenty of educational opportunities. I think having it out of state is a neat idea. I do like to travel and write it off! LOL.

The State of Tennessee Real Estate convention will be a very production event to attend.

Good luck and success.

Did you see Debbie Laity at the convention, Will Hamm? She said she had lots of meetings.

Since we mix it up and visit all parts of the state every so often, we don't get any vendor complaints, Lise Howe.

It was a really good group and since we don't have a beach close we have to travel, Sheila Anderson.
