Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: I Am Thankful for Travel

I Am Thankful for Travel

I Am Thankful for Travel

I love traveling and especially seeing our great country. I have been to about 40 of our 50 states and will see the rest over the next couple of years. There is so much to see in the way of parks, museums and beautiful geography that it is a quest of discovery. The people and food are different too and that is part of the great adventure.

Portugal

It is quite a thrill visiting foreign countries but I don't have many of those under my belt,. So far I have traveled to about 15 other countries. I got a very late start on venturing beyond our borders so I have to make up for lost time.

It takes a lot of money to travel and I am blessed that I can and that I want to. We have our eyes on a trip to Cuba next and want to see it before the Western world comes in and completely transforms it. After that, I am not sure but another trip to Europe sounds intriguing.

I am thankful for travel.

Wow, you have travelled a lot! It will be neat when you go to Cuba and get to ride around in the old classic cars.

Only 15?!!  You're WAY ahead of me Debbie Reynolds!  Like you, I got a late start but, am enjoying catching up!  We're headed to Panama in 2017 and that travel keeps me focused; it's my light at the end of the tunnel!

We will be visiting 7 countries soon south of US return to Florida. These days the trip is quite affordable. Avoid tourist and expensive hotels will save a bundle.

Debbie Reynolds - What a wonderful thing to be thankful for - travel!  Something that enriches your soul, leaves you with a life-time of memories, and an understanding of the world beyond your own town limits! : )

Hi Debbie - travel is great, I love it too. You are so right that there is so much to see in our own country before we need to venture out overseas.

Cuba is on my list as well as Bali and new Zealand. We are looking at Panama and Ecuador also. We also have American destinations planned. You can't travel enough and we always feel we learn so much from other cultures.

There has to be an eternity. Why? To visit every nook and cranny on this planet, enjoy it, stay and sit a spell, interact with nature, animals and the elements etc. alone would take hundreds of millions of years. Then, how about your favorite spots you want to visit again? I'm in!

Debbie, traveling expands our horizons in more than one way, doesn't it?  Europeans have been vacationing in Cuba for decades so there may be some surprises!

I think traveling is a wonderful thing to be thankful for. I also love to travel. I've only visited a handful of foreign countries, though. I have 13 more states to go until I've visited all 50 of them. I hope to have them all visited within the next couple of years.

I have traveled to 48 states, all except Alaska and Hawaii. Colorado is one of the most beautiful with our sunshine, blue skies and snow-capped mountains.

As I meet new people from elsewhere, I find my travel experience gives me a conversation starter.

A funny thing is that often people do not even visit attractions in their local area. I can see Pikes Peak out my window and have hiked, driven and rode the cog railway to the top. But many local people have never been to the top. Great view and famous donuts in the snack bar at 14,115 feet. Construction of a new $25 million Summit House will begin in 2017.

Zebulon Pike tried climbing it in November 1806 in waist-deep snow and gave up after 2 days without food.

Thanks Debbie for reminding us how wonderful it is to travel in this country.

There is so much to see and each place is special to itself.

I have had the pleasure of traveling in 15 countries and have not counted up the states I have been to.

I likewise am Thankful

Debbie, I've always liked to travel, but don't get to it nearly as much as I'd like.  I have a mix of domestic and international places I'd like to get to yet (or visit again).  The Navy lived up to its promise of helping me see the world when I was young :)  Bill

Hi Debbie

You've certainly explored more of this country than I have. While I have driven through many states in my cross country trips I can't really say I visited.

I enjoy travel a lot, even in this day and age when flying can be a bit of a hassle. My wife and I have a list of a number of other places outside our country that we'd like to visit - but I'd go back to France and Italy in a heartbeat!
