Giving Thanks for my Home
Owning a home is very special and not to be taken for granted. Home is more than a building or dwelling, it is a habitat, a sanctuary. I am thankful for my home each and every day.
When I wake up in the mornings, I love knowing that I am safe and sound in my home. All the children are grown so it is just me and my husband living here. We start off slow in the mornings with him getting up a full hour before me. I like those last few minutes in the bed dozing in and out and allowing thoughts of the day before me to take shape.
Once I am up we drink coffee together and talk about our day and if either of us has lunch plans. We love eating lunch together and enjoy the same foods. We may linger a little in the mornings unless one of us has early morning appointments. I relish the time I spend in my home during the morning hours.
When I get home after a long day, I feel the cares of the day start to drift away. My home is a refuge and the fact I get to share it with the one I love makes it even more sacred and special. I love my home but my home would be wherever my husband is. It is especially nice that it is in the location it is, designed the way it is, decorated in a fashion that is comfortable to our lifestyle and is surrounded by flowers and has a treeline view.
I am truly blessed and love my home.
