Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: Clarksville's Historic Courthouse- A Majestic Building

Clarksville's Historic Courthouse- A Majestic Building

A Must-See Courthouse in Tennessee

 Clarksville TN Courthouse

This is one of the prettiest courthouse in Tennessee. In all times of the day or night. This Clarksville TN historic building is beautiful and worth a drive through Downtown Clarksville to see. The grounds are always beautifully groomed and the public courtyards have many pieces of history depicting the rich history of this stately building.

The Courthouse is a survivor having sustained fire and storm. Most recently it survived the Tornado of 1999 but this time the damage was in the millions. The discussion included taking it completely down and building new. Thanks to insurance and grant monies it was brought back to an even more impressive structure.  The F3 Tornado of 1999 caused 72 Million in damages.

The renovation allowed the courthouse's interior to be brought up to current codes. It was at this time that an additional Court Center was built to house several courtrooms. The Millennium Plaza is adjacent to the historic Montgomery County Courthouse.

If you live in Clarksville, you have probably seen this beautiful historic building. If you are visiting the city be sure to put it on your list of places to see. There are many other gorgeous buildings to see in the downtown area. Be sure to to visit the Customs House Museum right across the street from the courthouse.

Montgomery County Courthouse in Clarksville is a Majestic Building.

This looks like a movie set waiting for the actors in some court room drama story

It took some hunting, but I found that it was built in 1878.  A very majestic looking structure

Yes it is old. I am pretty sure it burned twice, Ed Silva.

Hi Debbie - it is a beautiful building and it is amazing how you can restore building to the former look.  It is much prettier than our court house in White Plains.

Wow. That courthouse is beautiful. Love old buildings. Looks like a perfect setting for a legal thriller. Thanks for sharing.
