Serendipity Sundays - Hot Summer Days, Eat Ice Cream

Serendipity Sundays - A Cool Treat Anytime, Any Weather

Eat Ice Cream

Summer is here and the last few days have been extremely hot. The heat warnings are stretching across the country for people to be careful, drink plenty of water and watch for signs of overheating.

Another remedy for cooling off on hot summer days is to eat ice cream. There is something about this cool treat that brings the body temp down and makes you forget for a few minutes about how hot it is outside.

Ice cream shops are especially busy dishing up these cool treats during the summer. Though it doesn't have to be hot to enjoy ice cream. it is good anytime. My personal favorite is vanilla with caramel topping and pecans on top. A little will satisfy me. In fact one scoop will satisfy my urge, each time.

It is even more fun to sit at a counter on a swivel stool to see the dessert being prepared and wait anxiously in anticpation. For me that never gets old.

I love gives me a more valid reason to eat as much icecream as I do.

My mother-in-law liked ice cream so much she would not even offer her guests any and would eat it right in front of them. It became comical, William Feela.

We went to Burger King for diner tonight because we wanted a cone afterwards. With Burger Kings cones at 59 cents our diner was cheaper than just two cones alone at Dairy Queen.

Everyday is a good day to enjoy ice cream at Ice Cream City.

Good luck and success.

This is sound advice.  Snow cones are good too.  My kids and I did those on Friday. :-) Kasey

Eating ice cream on a hot Tennessee  summer day sounds more like a planned event than a happy accident but who cares.  Cream City looks like the place to be  in July.

Debbie Reynolds Any day is a good day for ice cream but especially good on a hot summer day.  Enjoy!

That is the type of ice cream shop I couldn't resist. Ice Cream is my sugar and calorie downfall.

Sorry, Debbie Reynolds but Sandy works a major guilt trip on me if I indulge in any ice cream. Guess I have to just go for the frozen margaritas!

Good morning Debbie.  I've been enjoying my share (and maybe more) this summer when it comes to ice cream.

Good morning again Debbie. The image of sitting at the counter and watching the treat being prepared brings back wonderful memories.

Good Morning Debbie - that reminds me of the old soda fountains sitting on a swivel chair.  I would love it.

I do love me some ice cream and I need to start making a healthier version for myself to enjoy, I have seen recipes without sugar and such.

Hi Debbie - I'll eat ice cream anytime, but you're right about it really hitting the spot on a hot day. And I love all the great new flavors and types that have come on the market in the last 5 years or so - but butter pecan with caramel is my fav too.

Hi Debbie- When I think of summer, I picture kids and ice cream cones. As many flavors that I try, my favorite is still dark chocolate, in fact, Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy!

I often think that a nice ice-breaker is to ask somebody: "What's your favorite ice-cream?" :)

I never turn down a chance to eat ice cream. Homemade and hand churned (like the kind my grandmother used to make) is my absolute favorite.
