Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: Ice Skating Has Come to Clarksville, TN

Ice Skating Has Come to Clarksville, TN

Open to the Public in Downtown Commons

If ice skating is your sport and you have been wishing for a place to skate close to home then your wish has been granted. In Downtown Commons Clarksville, the seasonal ice skating rink opened the Friday after Thanksgiving and will be open until January 31st.

Ice skating

It is going to be a hit in Clarksville and is totally the result of the hard work of Montgomery County's Mayor and the Two Rivers Company, a non-profit organization which is focused on bringing business and activities to Downtown Clarksville. There was a lot of controversy about the County being instrumental in  opening a park in the Downtown area. But as the County Mayor says, this is the heart and center of the county.

Money raised will be used for maintenance other events and activities in the area. The park is still under construction but will be finished in 2018.

The rink is 78 feet by 43 feet and 70 people can skate at a time. and there are 300 pairs of skates available. The cost is $10 for 75 minutes of skating. The rink is open daily and on weekends. Click here to see times and dates.

Centruy 21 Platinum Properties is a corporate sponsor and will have hot chocalate and snacks available for skaters and observers. Stop by and say hello, get a snack and talk some real estate.

I have never tried to ice skate, I am sure that I would fall quite often before I got the hang of it.

Good morning Debbie Reynolds,

Good way to get the word out about ice skating in Clarksville, TN! We have it here in Austin and everyone loves it. I grew up ice skating on ponds and always enjoyed it!

As someone who grew up with the Rockefeller Center skating rink, I know how many memories are made on one during the holiday season. Charlotte, too, has opened one this year for the holiday season.

I grew up skating on back yard rinks and ponds... kids love it and a great way for a family to spend quality time together and have fund.. and.. at a relatively inexpensive cost.

Hi Debbie Reynolds, I haven't been on the skating rink since I moved to FL, it was a must do for me and my son at the Rockefeller Center when we lived in NY.

Debbie, I have never been very good at ice skating but, I do enjoy watching others do it. So much hard than it looks! Lots of memories to be made. I think it's great that the money made will be used for other events, wonderful for the community.

Ready or not, I do believe the people of Clarksville are long over due for the ice skating rink and it is going to be a lot of fun! This will give many young children ambition to try something new. For teenagers, love will be in the air - just like it was for their grandparents and great grandparents. Ice skating is a wholesome activity and I can already feel the excitement for the people in Clarksville. This is just one more good reason for buyers to move to Clarksville and contact you!

Oh the memories. I thought I was a real "Peggy Flemming," ( that's going to age me ) when I was a young girl. In reality, my sister tells me I was terrible - lol. I remember thinking how I was flying on the ice. Oh reality!

Regardless, there are many children, and adults, who are going to find joy in the ice rink in Clarksville. D
