Ft. Defiance Story Time in Clarksville TN

Fort Defiance Clarksville TN Has Lots of History to Share with Children

Fort DefianceThe second Tuesday of each month, kids are especially invited to come to Fort Defiance Interpretive Leaning Center for Historic Story Time. This is a wonderful learning experience and perfectly suited for home schooled children and school sponsored trips.

You see, nearly 200 years ago, this area was a trading center for the American Indians. They discovered that the location 200 feet above the confluence of the Red and Cumberland Rivers had the perfect view for protection to see enemies coming up or down the Cumberland River.
Fort Defiance a treasureFort Defiance Clarksville TN was a Confederate Post during the Civil War.

Children will learn about the armies from both sides that held the post during the Civil War. Life during the war was hard and Clarksville was a growing trade town during this time.

Hi Debbie, you have a real knack for showing us how localism posts "show" our local expertise. Very nicely done.

I bet Fort Defiance's front door was a hard fortification to crack and slip inside for any enemy. Not just kids like to hear the history... new to the area real estate relocating property listing buyers... better stock the information shelves with what happens around the home now, years ago for the local community flavor. Tell me about your area, make me an expert or quickly feed me with eye candy and narrative for more than I did know before stopping into your marketing tent to happen. Gas them up with knowledge fuel. That is our job as local blogging cub reporters right Debbie Reynolds ?

Good afternoon Debbie - I certainly learned my American history by visiting places like this.  It is important to teach children American history.
