Tax Free Weekend in Tennessee - 2018

It's Almost Here Again

Sales Tax Free Weekend for 2018- July 27-29

In just 2 weeks the Annual Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday. will be here. This annual event is courtesy of the Tennessee State Legislature to allow people one weekend to buy clothing and school supplies without having to pay the usual sales tax. There are currently 5 pages of specifically stated exempt items.Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday

Any one buying clothing or office type supplies or computers up to $1500 can benefit. Even tablets and iPads are included. There are price caps which means if the item is over the limit the item does not qualify.

Sale Tax Free Weekend 2018 is July 27-29.

The sale begins at 12:01am on Friday, July, 27 to 11:59 pm Sunday, July 29. Clothing items and shoes are limited to $100 per item. I find it interesting that disposable diapers, bridal gowns, camping clothes, ski suits, lab coats are all exempt items. What a great way for families to save money and stretch the back to school budget.

Check out the chart to see the full list of exempt items and what is not exempt during Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday 2018.

Good morning Debbie. Used to have a tax free week in Florida. Illinois, with some of the highest sales taxes in the country, is too broke I guess! Enjoy your day!
