Real Estate by Debbie Reynolds: Sharing Your Contact Information from Your Cell Phone

Sharing Your Contact Information from Your Cell Phone

How to Share Your Contact on Your Cell Phone
iphoneIt isn't always easy to have a business card with you. Wherever we go we run into people that we should pass a card to. I have found an easy way to do that and to capture their personal information.

I set myself in my cell phone address book as a contact with full information about me, my company, my numbers, social links, email and the words real estate and REALTOR®.

Now here's the beauty of it all. I ask the person to text me. Then I set them up as a contact with all their information by asking questions right then and there. Then I turn right around and share my contact information with them and with the click of a button they add me to their address book.

When they think real estate agent, my company name, my name or REALTOR® and put any of these names or partial names in their address book search, my full contact name will come up and they can call, text or email me right away. I love this as it is so easy.

If I had passed my business card they may have dropped it, stuck in in a pocket or purse or just plain misplaced it. No worries about that as my information is with them at all times because most people keep their phones by their side. I also make sure to tell them they can find me by searching in their address book using real estate or REALTOR®. I will pop right up. It works!

Debbie, what a great idea. I think I will do that, too. Now that I am learning the settings of my new phone, I'd better implement good practices. Thanks for sharing this.

Debbie, one of the gates my potential clients go through is  '... text me your email address...' since I am driving... and if I am not even then the same gate they have to cross, if they are unwilling I do not work with them period.Endre

Good morning Debbie. Great idea since it is harder to lose a cell phone than a business card! Enjoy your day!

This works great as long as they remember your name.  I try to put some notes into my phone's contact record when getting some of these entries.

Good suggestion, Debbie. I am one of those people who always has business cards with her... I virtually never go out without a handbag and there are always cards in my bags.

This is a great suggestion to share. I will schedule a December reblog.

That is a very good way to do it.  My title company setup a digital business card for me to share, but I haven't really used it.

Great idea, Debbie.  I often do something similar with my cellphone.  Last night on the news they were talking about half of cell phone calls being spam or scam calls.  Kind of frightening when you think about it.  They suggested only picking up calls from those we can identify when calling in.  However, as real estate professionals that doesn't always work well, especially when potential clients are calling from our on-line presence.

I should add Realtor to my name. Although most people can remember Elizabeth because it's so many syllables. More syllables, easier to remember. And Weintraub is such an odd last name. Good idea, Debbie!!

A few years ago our Board went with Savvy Card as a member benefit and it works well for sharing contact info. In addition to Savvy Card,  I came up with a different option when sharing my contact info from my phone that works for me.

It can be really tricky with sharing that information in the certain stuff that you have to realize that not everybody needs to know about.

Good morning, Debbie! I would also add that I have two separate ones - I named the one I send as Marney Kirk work - because my other one has personal info I don't necessarily want to share with business prospects!

Excellent suggestion, Debbie.  Thanks for sharing!  This gave me another idea too!  I might write a blog about that.

I do this all the time. I even set myself up as an agent in my scheduling app that the agents use. That way when a buyer calls to schedule, I just open the app and schedule myself just like an agent would. It blocks the time and I can fill in the details later.

And the beauty is that if they want to refer you they can text your contact information to the referral and let you know, too!

I attempted that just yesterday ... and I had no bars on my phone. Go figure given that I have the big V provider.  In any event, the connections were made the old fashion way.

I share my contact info immediately through the RPR app. Works beautifully. And I agree, business cards can be misplaced. Great post

Is your picture included with your contact information? Also, do you take a picture of them so you can remember what they look like?
